EKBIS.CO, JAKARTA — BRI noted an increase in the number of BRIZZI electronic money transactions by approximately 15 percent during Ramadan and holidays. This figure is increased compared to the average transactions of the period of the months usually.
Director of Retail Funding & Distribution BRI Andrijanto said that the increase was driven by the use of BRIZZI for toll payments on homecoming as well as the reverse flow of leaflets. In addition, it is also influenced by the factor of ease of topping up BRIZZI balances in BriMo.
“The increase occurred due to the addition of BRIZZI acceptance points to a total of approximately 19 thousand acceptance points,” he said on Friday (18/4/2024).
In addition, the purchase of BRIZZI cards is also facilitated through cooperation partners. During the Lebaran holiday, it was noted that the number of BRIZZI cards was specially distributed as 15 thousand cards along the Sumatra and Java toll roads.
BRIZZI, which is a medium of electronic money transactions, is predicted to experience significant growth, mainly driven by the electronification of toll roads and the digitalization of local merchants.
This significant growth in BRI transactions will continue to further support the implementation of cashless society and digitalization in the country. This shows that more and more people are switching from cash to cashless transactions given the ease of payment supported by BRI digital technology.
The digital transformation that has been carried out by the company so far has had a real impact, where today digital transactions dominate with 99 percent of the total BRI transactions. The rest is done conventionally in branches or work units of the BRI.
BRI also continues its digital transformation with the Hybrid Bank Business Model to increase the penetration of financial services (financial inclusion) and to present banking services more effectively, efficiently, and integrated in accordance with the Indonesian society's digital literacy journey.
